navigating the site

To navigate this site, use the    gray and    gold buttons.  Selections made in the state menu, which appears in the left frame, will open more-detailed menus containing access to civil divisions and ZCTAs.  Selections in those two menus open a pop-up menu in the upper-right corner of the screen.  That pop-up menu contains the possible census topics currently available on this site.  Your selection from that menu opens the census graphic.  The menu hierarchy is as follows:

Note that some pop-up menus must be closed before other selections can be made.  Where such is the case, a gold button and instructions appear within the menu.  Javascript must be enabled to open the pop-up menus and graphics.

ordering census graphics

If the census information you desire is not available on this site, you may contact ChurchGraf Research, Inc. at the address below and order what you need.  The cost for a single graph for any particular civil division or ZIP Code Tabulation Area is $5.00.  A one-time subscription is also available to organizations which reduces the single-graph cost by fifty percent.  ChurchGraf produces the graphics for your order and uploads them to the site, then contacts you of their availability.

Custom graphics can be created from the data at the Census Bureau's "American FactFinder."  Available data from the Summary File 1 (SF1) and Summary File 3 (SF3) are listed in the following geography, table, and thematic map links:
       2000 Summary File 1, 100-percent count tables
2000 Summary File 1, 100-percent count thematic maps
2000 Summary File 3, sample count tables
2000 Summary File 3, sample count thematic maps
1990 Summary File 1, 100-percent count tables and thematic maps
1990 Summary File 3, sample count tables and thematic maps

This census website was originally prepared for the Dubuque District Congregational Development Committee of The Iowa Conference of The United Methodist Church by ChurchGraf Research, Inc.  With interest by other groups, it is being expanded to include other states in the United States.
