For a moment or two think of what "new" feels like, smells like, sounds like, looks like. Let me share some of my "new" senses. I enjoy the smell of new mown hay, I like the sound of a new born bird chirping or a new baby crying. And speaking of babies, have you ever noticed how ugly a brand new baby is? They are so ugly they are cute! Somehow, newness has a distinctive quality about it. Even Spring, the smells and sounds and touch of Spring fills our nostrils and eyes, our ears and fingers with freshness.
Such is new life in Christ. When the love of God fills our heart, it feels like waring a long white freshly washed and starched shirt. It sounds like a choir of angels singing alleluia and Glory to God in the highest. The world looks friendly, there is joy in the heart.
Nor does the new life come only once. But like an everflowing fresh water spring, each new day begins with a fresh awareness of the presence of God.
Today, let your senses respond to the fullness of God in your life.
