The appeal to commitment of life in service to God is the appropriate response to God's love in Christ Jesus. When we are filled with the presence of God, it is only normal to respond to that presence in worship, study, service - to give praise and thanksgiving, and to do deeds of mercy and reconciliation to our neighbors. As St. Paul writes about the "spiritual service," he reminds us that we are all part of one body, and "members of one another." One of the ways this being part of each other is expressed in allowing persons to share in our lives without trying to manipulate them to be different that they are, but to enjoy the friend and fellow member just as they are - and in so doing we fulfill the will of God in our lives together. Amen
