Spiritual Movement |
Some years ago a friend of mine, a professor at Wichita State University taught a management course in which he discussed the management of intelligence. He said that because there is so much to know we could spend all our time "learning about" or collecting data and never make a decision. He went on to say that decisions must be made, but are always tentative, because , as the hymn puts it as new information comes along, "New occasions teach new duties, Time makes ancient goods uncouth"
In Christian living it is possible to "study the Bible, know all about it, and yet never make a faith decision -i.e :. become faithfully related to God in Christ Jesus. It is possible to know all about Christianity yet never become devoted to God. The Christian Hope is not based on how much we know, but rather it si based on our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. We are those who experience the love of God in Christ. Such a love is so basic and so simple that even small children, or those with limited understandings may participate fully and joyfully in the Christian experience. Thank God for the love that has been offered so beautifully. Amen.
